“In golf he wanted his team to know and follow the rules. He wanted them to know golf etiquette and to resist the temptation to cheat. If you are a golfer, you know how easy it is to forget to record a stroke.
I have to mention that he did shoot one ‘hole in one’ while playing a round of golf with his brother and two nephews. Anyone who knew John would know that he loved to play golf. He spent his last day on earth playing golf with his golf team. I like to think that he is up in heaven still yelling ‘fore’.”

Dear Memorial Golf Tournament Sponsor,
The sixth annual John Kirchenbauer Memorial Golf Tournament has a new date and venue; all for the benefit of Holtville student’s scholarships and sports camps, that have been attended by youth representing the entire Valley.
After some months delay, while awaiting the Barbara Worth Country Club’s proposed purchase of new golf carts to accommodate our tournaments need; the Hall of Fame Committee has moved this year’s event to the Barbara Worth Country Club with the event now scheduled for Saturday March 23, 2013.
As a previous sponsor, we are hopeful that once again we can count on your valued support, especially in this year of change. Each year the tournament has grown and now features: a chance to win a Million ($) dollars, automobiles and many other great par 3 prizes.
With your $300 golf hole sponsorship, you will be entitled to: sponsor sign on golf hole, sponsor name on Memorial Golf Tournament banner, appropriate sponsor “Thank You” letter and newspaper acknowledgement, posting of sponsor name on our web site @ www.greenandgoldhalloffame.com , tournament entry T-prize (shirt, etc.) and of course luncheon as we recognize our participants.

Format is 4-person scramble, 18 holes
Entry Fee: $100 per player (enter a foursome for $350)
Includes green/mandatory cart fee, complimentary breakfast before the event and luncheon to follow tournament. Additional luncheon guest tickets may be purchased for $15 per person. Enter tournament or purchase extra luncheon tickets from Dana Hawk at the Holtville Chamber of Commerce, 356-2923.
